At Haverfordwest Golf Club our aim is to build and develop a strong Juniors Section for the future whilst being a key contributor to the Health & Wellbeing of children and young adults in the community.
What’s important to us is to give young golfers (boys and girls) the best introduction and start to the game. We will provide an environment where they can develop their skills and provide encouragement to enable them to progress to whatever level they aspire to.
If you are between 6 and 16 years old, have an interest in golf, or just want to try it, then being part of Haverfordwest's Junior Section will be just the start of getting into golf, meeting new friends and developing new life skills.
The Club is a Golf Wales SafeGolf centre and has achieved the standards required in Coaching and Playing and, of course, Child Protection and Duty of Care.
Over the years Haverfordwest Golf Club has established a junior program of activities to give promising young golfers the opportunity to develop their game to the highest standard possible. We have active junior members who are representing their county and region. In 2019 our juniors achieved national tour success in both the Ping Junior Tour Final and also the Welsh Mini Masters (boys and girls section).
In 2023 we will be working with local Primary and Secondary schools with the aim to introduce as many 8–13 year-olds to the game and give them the opportunity to learn golf. Coaching sessions will be delivered, by our team, at the schools and those that are keen to continue will be offered the opportunity to join our New2Golf Scheme. All equipment is provided by the golf club so there is no initial outlay required by parents.
