June got underway with a large turn out for the Seniors Open Day with 120 in the field. For the early starters it was a bit of a damp start but as the morning progressed so the weather improved . Steve Lewis (Hwest) winning overall from Jim Morgan(Hwest) with 38 pts . Keith Howells from Ashburnham was the best visitor with 38pts beating Alan Jones(Tenby) on the back 9.

HGC would like to thank all those who supported the day – there are some unclaimed prizes which are available from the office for collection .

The Ladies GUW Medal 6 was won by Sarah Bevan with a net 73 beating Elspeth Owen on the back 9.

The Arnold Downs Trophy this year was won by Abe Forsyth (hcp 4) who had a fanatastic gross 67 shooting 35 on the front 9 and 32 on the back 9  which overall equated to 43pts – Congratulations on some great scoring .
Eileen Ticehurst won the ladies Hammond Salver with a net 72 beating Barbara Phillips into second place who had a net 75

Julie Doherty won the Caroline Allison Trophy with 35 pts

Ray Woodason triumphed in the Seniors medal as overall winner with a net 67.

Lady Captain Diane Gough won the 27 hole Leanora Laugharne Cup with a net 109 over 27 holes  with Anne Owen in second place with a net 113

Young Richard James made his Dad very proud on Fathers day winning the Presidents Putter with +3 narrowly beating
one of our ex captains Micky Dunthorne on countback.

The Summer League continued with Peter Robinson winning with a net 69.

The qualifiers going through to the Ladies Knockout stages of the Presidents & Vice Presidents 4BBB are Jean lewis and pat Roblin ( net 64) Chris Halpin and Anita Thomas(net64), Sarah Bevan and Mair Morgan(net 67) and Andrea Dudden and Julie Doherty (net67).

The Veterans Putter for the over 50’s saw a win for Roy Taylor with 37 pts with Byron Williams second with 36pts. The Mens Monthly medal overall winner was Paul Thomas. with a net 68. While Oliver Davies was Division 1 winner with a net 68 and Peter Robinson Division 2 winner with a net 73.
