February News so far……12th February 2017
A wet start to February meant some competitions had to be rearranged, however the Ladies Winter Salver (round4) was played and won by the “in form” Sarah Bevan with 31pts (over 14 holes) who is still leading the salver overall .The Mens Winter league round 4 had to be cancelled due to the wet conditions( this has been rearranged for Sun 12th March)
The Six nations day was a huge success( apart from the result of the rugby!!!) the club would like to thank all the members and non members who played and supported the day and who also created the most fantastic atmosphere in the clubhouse during and after the match. The winners of the Competition were Robin Ellis, Mark Owen and Alan Spencer with 82 pts just beating Simon Brady, Paul(Reload)Davies and Martin Lewis with 81 pts. We would also like to thank Lucy and all her team in the 19th Hole for the excellent pie and chips served after the golf.
The club is delighted to announce that Robin Ellis will be taking over the Captaincy of the Tigers and he is already looking forward to an exciting year .
Round 5 of the Winter league took place and was won by the experienced duo of Richard Scott and Alan Webster with 42pts in somewhat chilly conditions. the ladies Valentine trot was won by Pratibha Kanse with 27 pts (over 14 holes). Round 6 of the Winter league saw Robin Potter and Richard Willams (46 pts) close the gap on leaders Oliver Davies and Dave Richards which should make for an exciting finish.
The Mens February Medal was won with a fantastic round of golf from Alan Spencer who shot gross 70 (net 64) . Mike Woods won the Tigers category with a net 73 just beating Simon Brady on the back 9 while Dylan John won the Rabbits category with a net 68 . Well done to all those who played in some very tough conditions .
